We went to the bar for drinks. As someone who gave up drinking a year and a half ago, I really really appreciate that they serve Lyre's liquor substitutes. I was a long-time drinker and I really want to also be able to have a nice craft cocktail. When I go to dinner. A mocktail is not soda, water and cherry juice. So I really appreciated the wonderful mocktails that I have here! The hotel is also very nice and we are eating dinner there tonight so I'm excited for the farm to table menu!!!!

Return patron after roughly a year, during an overnight stop on a road trip with family. Located on the ground floor of the Citizen Hotel on J Street, conveniently in the downtown area. Restaurant entrance through the hotel lobby.
Very welcoming, friendly, and attentive staff throughout - from front desk to usher and waiter. Beautiful, fully stocked bar with large counter near the front desk. Stylish, upscale design with high ceiling (2 floors) above the main seating area. Open kitchen towards the rear, as well as a private dining room with sliding doors.
Seated almost immediately, helpful and accommodating waiter provided menu and wine list. Explained daily specials. We started with cocktails while choosing our dishes. Received delicious bread and butter. Good pace of being served. Started with a great soup (to share, nicely served in separate bowls). Excellent mains, nicely plated (Bacon wrappped pork tender loin for me). Finished with a yummy dessert and liquor. They initially couldn't find my beverage choice but made an effort to search and find it!
Great attention to details, excellent food and drinks, high customer focus. What else do you wish for? Highly recommended, we will come back. :)
We returned in the morning for an equally excellent breakfast. If you stay at the hotel and have high Marriott status, breakfast for two is free (full menu, no limitations).
Tip for those interested in points & miles: of course you could charge your restaurant bill to the hotel room. A much better option is to triple stack with OpenTable, Amex Gold, and Rakuten ;)

This is a great place to eat and drink! The atmosphere is upscale without the prices being out of control, at least for a business traveler, which I think is their primary audience. I wish they were more explicit about dietary restrictions on the menu, which is basically silent on this topic.

We enjoyed breakfast at the Grange during our hotel stay. Our waiter, Chris, was attentive and communicated clearly, sharing substitution options and menu recommendations on request.
The cheese enchiladas were a hit— a touch of heat, but not really spicy, great for a morning meal.

NO way this is less than a 5-star restaurant - literally every componenet of a restaurant is exceptional here: food, service, flavors, ambiance & location. Michelin Star restaurants can seem off-limits, outrageously expensive, uppity - NONE of that here. Exceptional professionalism from the door to the table and the FLAVORS - oh my gosh the flavors and creativity. Cannot wait to come back (we flew to Sacramento for the weekend to eat here - no lie). Everything was superb.

First time here for lunch with out of town guests and it did not disappoint! The power lunch is the way to go with a half sandwich, soup, salad, and a dessert treat. I ended up getting the fish sandwich and fries, which was plentiful! We were also treated to a few appetizers, including tots Royale and fresh made hummus. The chef even came to our table. We will certainly be back!!!

A Sacramento Gem! The menu here is elegant and fresh, highlighting local ingredients in every dish.
Service: Top-notch. The staff is fast, friendly, and really knows the menu.
Vibe: Contemporary and spacious dining room. There’s also a solid bar area with two large TVs for sports fans.
Wine: Excellent selection.
Parking: Valet is available, or street parking if you don't mind a short walk. Very convenient if you're staying at the Citizen Hotel.
Grange even catered my wedding years ago, and they haven't lost their touch. Everything remains delicious and first-class. I’ll definitely be back!

Visited December 17th..see my receipt as always.
This is a contemporary and upscale restaurant located inside the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento.
After alittle Christmas shopping we decided to have a late lunch. My boyfriend and I shared the burger that came with some delightful and slightly crunchy fries. Just the right amount of food!
I also had a nice glass of Clos Pegase wine ( used to be a wine club member) and he had their special Grange old fashioned. He said it was the best he had!
It is modern with plenty of seating along with bar seating . They also have second floor seating.
The lunch prices were reasonable and the atmosphere is a business casual vibe.
The staff is friendly ( thanks Haley!) and I will definitely come back! I want to go and enjoy a steak on their dinner menu!

Came here while in Sacramento on a business trip and picked it to treat a business acquaintance (now a good friend) to a fancy night out. Seeing it recognized by the Michelin Guide made it an easy choice.
Ambience was nice but not overly impressive—but the food more than made up for it. Everything from drinks to apps to mains was delicious, and the whole evening turned out really special. Service was a standout—our server was fantastic and made the experience even better.
We ordered the hamachi crudo, roasted salmon, New York steak au poivre, and miso black cod. All were excellent. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and chocolate mousse cake—the bread pudding was great, but the chocolate cake was just okay.
Overall, really glad I chose this place. Great food, great service, and a memorable night. Would definitely come back.

Located on the bottom floor of the Citizen Hotel, a historic Sacramento building, with a gorgeous concrete exterior, built in 1924.
We ordered the whipped burrata, 12 hour braised short rib, Grange burger, and for dessert the hazelnut chocolate torte.
Whipped burrata was amazing served with bread, grapes inside were different but provided a sweet kick. Braised short rib was very tender and good flavor. Burger was solid and fries were great. Hazelnut chocolate torte was rich and dense.
Vibe is elegant and modern yet simplistic. Our waitress was extremely kind and attentive and had good menu recommendations. Valet parking or limited street parking available.
